AOBW has been set up by the IPA to give its members the ability to upload their portfolios, showcase and comment on the best work that our industry has to offer. It is a completely free service.

Well it’s very simple really. Agencies (who are members of the IPA), can register to showcase their work by emailing

Individuals (that’s people like you) can register to set up a personal profile page and link to your agency’s work, or interact with work on the site.

Individuals can join AOBW by registering. Once you’ve registered you’ll have your own personal profile page from which you can link to your agency’s work, upload work or interact with other work on the site.

Any work you upload needs to be approved by your agency’s administrator. This is just to make sure that all rights to host the work online have been covered off, and the client’s permission has been sought. If you are not sure who your administrator is, please ask someone at your agency.

Of course, we encourage all our members to upload their work. You can upload your portfolio from your agency´s page. Please note that your work will need to be approved by the agency administrator before it appears on the site.

We have now developed the site so that videos of most file formats can be uploaded. However, we recommend uploading video in flv or mpeg4 format with mp3 audio. We do accept mpg, avi, mov and wmv formats. These generally work but because certain videos of the same extension can differ widely in their internal make-up, some may not be convertible. In addition, the file should not have been converted before being uploaded to the site as otherwise it may corrupt when it’s being uploaded. Here are our preferred video specs:

NTSC (4:3) size and framerate, deinterlaced
Video Codec: MPEG4
Video Bitrate: at least 260Kbps (750kbps preferred)
Audio Codec: MP3 vbr
Audio Bitrate: at least 70Kbps (128 Kbps preferred)

The simple answer is, ask a designer. But if you’ve been given the job of changing your images to .jpeg, .gif or .png format, then you should be able to do this in Photoshop or any professional, image editing software package. Don’t worry about the size of the file, this will be shrunk automatically for you.

So that there is continuity across the site and to keep things simple for us here as we have so many images to deal with, all images must be in .jpeg, .gif or .png format. You can convert images to jpeg, .gif or .png format. using any professional, image editing software package.
