![]() Ford wanted to explore new ways of reaching 16-24 year olds through emerging media and specifically social networking. We needed an idea that ensured Ford became the conversation rather than forcing itself into one. ‘Where are the Joneses?´ was born, the world’s first audience written online comedy soap with 96 episodes airing over 3 months. The production drew on a diversity of Web 2.0 services, including Wordpress, Wikidot, YouTube, MySpace, Facebook and Flickr. The award winning series was a huge success generating just under half a million site visits, significant media coverage for Ford and a pioneering example of brand engagement through social media. | 1. Upload your work: If asked you will have to accept the widget to upload videos. Note there is a 50MB limit for each video. Videos of most file formats can be uploaded. However, we recommend uploading video in flv or mpeg4 format with mp3 audio. We do accept mpg, avi, mov and wmv formats. These generally work but because certain videos of the same extension can differ widely in their internal make-up, some may not be convertible (see the FAQs for more information). In addition, the file should not have been converted before being uploaded to the site as otherwise it may corrupt when it’s being uploaded. Also, please make sure that the name of the file only contains alphanumeric characters otherwise it won´t upload. Radio ads can be uploaded but need to be in mp3 format. Once you´ve added your radio / video you also need to press upload. 3. Tag your work Title: Media: Sector: Other: Tags: Link: (must include http://) 4. Press Save to submit work for approval. Your work will not appear on the site until it has been approved by your agency 30 Jan 2009 10:01 Very brave move by Ford. I got hooked on the story. How about a Jones´ family re-union? 29 Jan 2009 16:26 Funny and slightly strange that Ford would commission something like this - good fun though! 29 Jan 2009 16:24 I really liked this and thought it was really funny - it would be good for Ford to do something like this again.
