The brief To promote Toshiba’s new line of TVs, DVD players and laptops by creating a buzz around their partnership with the new Star Trek film. The campaign needed to position the products as innovative, state-of-the-art pieces of consumer electronics. The solution Across a variety of online and offline media, including a microsite and point-of-sale materials, the campaign’s hero products took starring roles in filmic settings. Strong graphic design tied the creative to the look and feel of the film, while the line ‘The future has arrived’ positioned the products as works of science fact.
